A Clearer View of Submarine Imaging
The Navy’s Integrated Submarine Imaging System (ISIS) captures and distributes high-definition video and photographic data for navigation and critical mission support, but until now, access to detailed views of components and interconnected systems has been limited.
Working with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) as part of an SAIC team, Alion drafted the ISIS System/Subsystem Design Document (SSDD) to describe the system and its individual components in-depth. Alion engineers also produced system-level electrical, network and functional schematics, which revealed several wiring design problems that would have gone unnoticed until testing or even deployment.
With SSDD, government and industry personnel can quickly gain insight to the design and operation of any aspect of ISIS and use the information more effectively.
